Judging Signal

A ranking system made for clarity.

Each theme has one or three judges. Judges provide rankings with no ties, and may also provide scores and comments for each submission.

Individual rankings

Judges must rank submissions with no ties on their own result sheet.

Sum of rankings

Overall ranking is decided by adding each competitor ranking from every judge in that theme.

Reserved judges

If a judge cannot submit on time, reserved judges from the organizing team or other themes may temporarily serve.

Tie-breaking

When ranking sums tie, tied competitors are compared only against each other. The competitor with better rankings from more judges is placed higher. In the rulebook example, Spinner B and Spinner C both total 7, but Spinner B has the better ranking from two of three judges, so Spinner B places above Spinner C.

If this method cannot resolve a tie of three or more competitors, judges may discuss and decide the final order for tied competitors.
